Operations Manager (Kelowna) - Full Time

The position of Operation Manager consists of planning, directing, or coordinating the operations of companies or public and private sector organizations.

Our expanding company is seeking to hire an experienced Operations Manager to join our leadership team to maintain, manage and oversee the general operations of our company. The fundamental job of this position will be planning a long-term success, work with various teams and departments on improvements and solutions, and analyze key performance indicators (KPI’s). You will be in charge of providing inspired leadership for the operation of our organization, which involves making important strategic decisions, as well as the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures. You will also be assisting our Human Resources department with recruiting, when necessary, and help promote our company culture that encourages morale and performance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Over-seeing operations at both locations.
  • Statistical analysis of operations. (KPI’s)
  • Full customer service.
  • Liaison between technicians, front end staff, departments needs and ownership.
  • Maintaining the computer database.
  • Manage Employees: Be the leader of the shop’s team and assist them to meet objectives, goals and sales targets set forth by the owner’s vision. Enforce and maintain the company’s values, mission, culture, policies, and systems. Provide coaching to employees who aren’t meeting standards or expectations.
  • Sales: Sell repairs and services to clients using company’s guidelines and best practices.
  • Mange Costs: Ensure that costs are kept under control by team in all areas of the shop and find ways to reduce cost while maintaining the customer service and quality standards of the company.
  • Manage Shop Workflow: While maintaining quality standards, maintain a balanced and effective workflow internal best practices. Assist foreman in managing technician workloads by monitoring and dispatching work to achieve the best possible results.
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morals.
  • Work with the shop owner to determine values and mission, and plan for short and long-term goals.
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.
  • Support worker communication with the management team.
  • Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations.
  • Assist the parts department with Purchasing when need it.
  • Assist the parts department and service advisors with estimating work order when need it.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum high school education required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management or related field.
  • At least 1-year previous Automotive knowledge required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience in management, operations, and leadership.
  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash-flow management.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, and to monitor/assess the performance of other individuals.
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among owners, HR department, shop Foreman, service advisors, and employees.

Working Conditions:

  • 7:15 AM to 5:15 PM Monday to Friday, or after reports are prepared.
  • Confirm all doors and gate are locked.
  • Walk through the shop, make sure to leave no “man behind.”

Compensation:

Competitive salary, and room for wage advancement. Benefits include bonus pay structure, RRSP matching, extended medical and dental, 3 weeks holidays (after 1 year), and 5 days of paid sick days.
